Georgian Financial Services of Athens began in Athens, Georgia
in 1952 as a consumer financial services company. When our physical location
was previously located on College
Avenue in downtown Athens, the local government decided it
would close our street for two weeks during the 1996 Summer Olympics.
Therefore, since we knew we would be out of business during those two weeks,
we decided to start providing foreign currency exchange services with the
idea that at least we perhaps could do foreign exchange business with Olympic
visitors during their stay in Athens.
So we began
providing foreign currency exchange services in Athens in the fall of 1995,
but when the Olympics came to town the next summer we found that most of our
foreign visitors had obtained their U.S. dollars over there, in their home
countries. But meanwhile we met a lot of nice people who appreciated our
service so we decided to continue the foreign currency exchange business and
have been doing so ever since.
In 2011, we began
buying and selling certain precious metals.
In March, 2012,
Foreign Currency Exchange Services, LLC was established, which provides all
foreign currency exchange and precious metals transactions.
Today we provide
foreign currency exchange services to many customers, including many repeat
customers. Not only can we convert U.S. dollars to foreign banknotes but we
also can convert foreign banknotes back to U.S. dollars.
We welcome any
further inquiries, questions or comments that you might have about us.
